Cancun / Riviera Maya - Tulum - Coba - Valladolid - Chichen Itza - Merida - Celestun - Uxmal - Kabah - Labna - Loltun - Sotuta - Temozon - Izamal - Cancun / Riviera Maya

Day 1 Cancun/Playa del Carmen - Tulum - Coba - Valladolid - Chichen Itza (Distance 205km)

Pick up of rental car. Drive to Tulum, an ancient Maya port built high on cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Possibility to swim in the turquoise waters. Drive inland to Coba, once an important trading city. Climb the highest pyramid in Yucatan to enjoy a breathraking view over endless jungle and deeb blue lagoons. Visit the tranquil colonial town of Valladolid with its impressive cenote Zaci. By late afternoon you will reach the historic Hacienda Chichen just a stone throw away from the Kukulkan pyramid! Evening: Sound & Light show in Chichen Itza. Overnight Hacienda Chichen

Day 2 Chichen Itza - Cenote Ik Kil - Hacienda Santa Cruz Palomeque (Distance 130km)

Visit the biggest and most visited Maya site Chichen Itza with its famous Kukulcan pyramid, the Temple of Warriors and Holy Cenote, the Ball Court and Observatory. Afterwards take a refreshing swim in nearby Cenote Ik Kil. Drive to Merida. Take highway south towards Campeche and take exit to Dzununcan. Soon you will see on your left hand side the Hacienda Santa Cruz Palomeque.

Day 3 Hacienda - Merida - Celestun - Hacienda (Distance 140km)

Short drive to state capital Merida. The main attractions are grouped around the main plaza: the oldest cathedral, Governeurs Palace, the splendid former residence of city founder Francisco de Montejo. Not to be missed is visit to the colorful and lively city market. Afternoon drive to Gulf of Mexico where you board a river boot and enter the beautiful lagoon, natural habitat of pink flamingos. Return to hacienda.

Day 4 Hacienda - Uxmal - Kabah - Labna - Loltun - Hacienda (Distance 125km)

Drive south to the so called Ruta Puc region where you will discover more silent witnesses of a ancient high civilsation like Uxmal (3 times built in Maya) with its steep pyramid of the Dhwarf and Kabah with its Chaac temple where the rain god was worshipped. Deeper into the ruta puc, you reach Labna with its intriguing archway. Nearby is the huge cave system of Loltun. Enter the underworld where Mayans held their sacred ceremonies. On way back, stop in Ticul, the pearl of the south, well known for its fine pottery and leather sandals. Return to Santa Cruz.

Day 5 Hacienda - Dzoyaxche - Sotuta - Uayalceh - Temozon - Hacienda (distance 80km)

Today we recommend to explore the surroundings where you can discover several more haciendas that fabricatd henequen: the green gold of Yucatan. Via Molas you reach the old hacienda in Dzoyaxche, today a popular spot for locals. Travelling on country roads, soon you get to Sotuta de Peon which hacienda was carefully renovated and revives the glory days. Take a guided tour including visit of henequen production. Board a traditional horse truck which takes you out to the henequen plantations and to a beautiful cenote where you can dip in. Driver further south to hamlet Uayalceh, where a once splendid hacienda has been abandoned facing an uncertain future, faith of many haciendas! Finally get to the impressive and luxury Hacienda hotel in Temozon which has seen many presidents and VIP guests over the years. Return to Santa Cruz.

Day 6 Hacienda - Izamal - Cancun / Playa del Carmen (distance 420 km)

Today we have to say goodbye to the hacienda life.......On your way back to the Riviera Maya coast, we recommend to stop in Izamal, the city of three cultures. Impressive the Franciscan convent built on top of a Maya temple. Climb the „Firebird“ pyramid to enjoy fantastic roundview over colonial Izamal and its surroundings. Return to Cancun or Riviera Maya. Return of rental car.
