Quintana Roo

The state of Quintana Roo is located on Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. It also stands for sun, beach, and turquoise blue water. The more than 300 km long coastline offers something for every visitor. It borders Campeche to the west, Yucatán to the northeast and Belize to the south. Besides well-known cities like Cancún, Playa del Carmen and Tulum, there are other less known places like Puerto Morelos, Akumal or the biosphere reserve of Sian Ka’an. It has been registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The diversity of the native fauna and flora is to be discovered. Also worth seeing is the town of Bacalar with the lagoon of the same name, also known as the “Lagoon of the Seven Colors” and a jewel in the south of Yucatán.
